The candidates in the pool consisted of the applicants of the PNP or Provincial Nominee Program. These candidates needed to score 754 points in the CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System. This is the cut-off CRS score for the most recent draw. Anyone with this score or higher would have received an invitation to apply for Express Entry.
The IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada held an Express Entry draw on March 16, 2022. It invited 924 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Express Entry System
Express entry Canada can be defined as a fast track immigration pathway to gain permanent residency for skilled professionals. Under this system applicants are ranked against one another based on the selection factors of age, work experience, educational qualifications, proficiency in English or French language, as well as additional factors like arranged employment and a genuine intention to live and economically establish themselves in any one of the Canadian provinces.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
The Canadian government developed a merit-based points system that assigns a score to each candidate in the Express Entry pool. This points system is called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and the score assigned to each candidate is called the CRS score.
Why are the scores high?
The CRS scores are high for PNP candidates compared to the scores of the candidates for other immigration programs in Canada. The PNP candidates get an additional 600 points added to their existing score.
